People had known about science and technology. These have brought a great help to human race. But with every benefit that we gain, problems arise. Left and right, everywhere you look, you can see the works of science. Its developments is fast raging that is hard to flow with. Days are passing; new discoveries and innovations are presented to human kind. But what do these things put on us. Do these truly and really help us?
Early mankind had their traditional way of living. They had served themselves of what they could personally get from the environment. It is said that through the growth of science and technology, man had improved the quality of their lives. Inventions had been given life for man. It makes work be done faster, easier and more convenient. Communication is much faster with the aid of present technology.
With the vast improvement in the field of medicine, many incurable diseases and sickness had been given solution. Discovery of drugs and medication had come up. For example cancer, it could be threatened with chemotherapy. It had made lives longer and decreases the rate of infant mortality. Other diseases like diabetes, malaria and tuberculosis have also their specifications of treatments.
The world is facing the problem on food shortage. Modern technology also helped us through mechanization. Specifically, better seeds are sown, better techniques of irrigation and pest controls and increase productivity levels on farms. (qna.rediff.com)
Transportation had been also made faster. In the air there are planes and helicopters. In water there are ships. And in land there are lots of vehicles, trucks and cars. With the ideas in science, applied in technology, these things can fly, float on water and move on land.
On the other hand, science and technology brought us not only fine things but also hand us problems to solve. Pollution happens on our surroundings. These are caused by carbon monoxide emitted by vehicles, gases produced by factories and hazardous chemicals dumped into the sea that sometimes reported to affect human health and marine life. Environment is damaged due to fast using of natural resources.
Our traditional way of living is also lost. We are being dependent on technology. Some are being lazy. Our healthy life had been damaged. Nuclear weapons are used in wars that could destroy lives and infrastructures.
Science and technology offers us much benefits but with corresponding problems. At the end, the decision still lies on man on how to handle these things. We are made to manage the earth not to be managed by technology.
